The abundance of snow this year has made those snow shoes part of the active apparel isle at wall mart.

But yesterday we found a great winter hike that didn't require snow shoes. We stopped by Wolf Neck State Park in Freeport and found miles of trails already broken and packed to only a good shoe was needed. Calm air and no ocean breeze made for a great time without the bitterness.

But when traveling Maine in the winter you need a good place to stay. Try the PineCrest Bed and Breakfast Inn in Gorham. The easiest place to stay and see everything in Southern Maine.

Great value, suburb rooms and tremendous attention to detail. If you come to Maine you must go to the PineCrest. Don't forget to make dinner reservations though.
