Maine's lobstermen have come upon hard times. The economy has decreased the demand for Maine lobster therefore lowering the price per pound. The cost of lobster bait and fuel for boats has gone up. Many lobstermen from Maine diversify their livelihood by doing other jobs such as trucking, construction, and part-time work. One lobsterman has taken to giving rides to tourists on his lobster boat.
