Windmills of Maine

Windmills are starting to become cost effective. Although expensive projects, once they are established, windmills can generate electricity economically.  Maine has some wind farms located in isolated areas away from population centers.  Read more in "Maine's Windkeepers: From Ship Masts to Windmills", ABC News, August 12, 2009. The Stetson Wind Farm is located in Maine's Washington County.  More than 23,000 homes receive electricity from this wind farm.
