Tate House - Historic House in Portland, ME

The Tate House, a historic house in Portland, Maine is now open to receive visitors. A description from the Tate House website follows:
"A large and elegant dwelling, Tate House was built in 1755 for Captain George Tate (1700 - 1794) and his family. Tate arrived in the colonies around 1751 to act as Senior Mast Agent for the British Royal Navy. . . " " . . . Tate House is one of two residences in Maine with an unusual clerestory in the gambrel roof.
