Maine Maple Syrup Season to Begin
Maine's maple syrup season starts anytime between mid-February and late March. The success of the season depends greatly on the temperature. Mother Nature gets "a vote". Read "Syrup producers looking for rebound", Portland Press Herald, Feb 24, 2008. Also see "Maine's maple syrup season begins", Bangor Daily News, Feb 23, 2008. March 23, 2008 will be "Maine Maple Sunday" - where Maine's maple producers open the doors of their sugarhouses and show the public how maple syrup is made.
