Central Maine Lodges by the Appalachian Mountain Club to Open Soon

The Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) has acquired 29,500 acres of wilderness land (purchased in Nov 09) to add to other properties that will make the central Maine wilderness more accessible to campers and hikers.  This area is also home to many lodges from years past that fell into private hands but now are available to the public.  Read more in "Opening Up the Maine Woods", Men's Journal, March 31, 2010.
