Bringing Back the New England Cottontail Rabbit
Maine's landscape has been changing from that of farmland to suburban developments and reforested areas. This has dramatically cut down on fields where the New England Cottontail Rabbit can be found. It is estimated that only 300 of the rabbits now exist in Maine. However there are some people who are trying to bring back the Cottontail population here in Maine.
